Our team is truly multidisciplinary and for a reason. We hope it will allow us to make the decisions, with the right people at pace. It includes experts in sexual health, public health, commissioning, evaluation, design and innovation.
It’s safe to say that we have good handle on of the local health economy and have demonstrated (albeit individually) our ability to make change happen. When necessary, we’ll naturally need to draw on additional expertise through a series of networks - the more the merrier (within reason).
In essence our core team is made up of four parts;
Clinical service providers
Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust are the major providers of specialist sexual health and community sex and reproductive health services in Lambeth and Southwark. Local services are recognised nationally for the provision of cutting edge service delivery. Camberwell Sexual Health Centre developed a model of fully integrated care for sexually transmitted infection and contraception with the full range of services provided within a single consultation by a single clinician.
The Burrell Street clinic provides similarly integrated services and has the distinction of being the only service in the country to be open on a Sunday.
Academic health network
Kings College London is a world leader in research and has the ability to deliver an independent evaluation of the implementation and outcomes of SH24.
This will provide learning with rigour as we proceed with implementation and the evidence which allows us to take SH24 to scale.
Commissioners and public health
Lambeth and Southwark Councils host the public health function and sexual health commissioning and are critical for providing the strategic leadership for SH24 and the commissioning support to deliver financial flows.
Innovation catalysts
The service innovation proposed within SH24 is huge, both in user experience and service culture. This sort of innovation does not happen without enablers. GSTT Charity has enabled us to advance our thinking for SH24 through their introduction to the Design Council and SLAM. A design led, iterative approach and prototyping will enable us to stage delivery providing confidence as we proceed on SH24 viability.
